COLUMBUS, OH – One person succumbed to injuries suffered in a hit-and-run crash early Monday in northeast Columbus, according to NBC4i.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene on State Route 3 (Westerville Road) at Innis Road some time after 12:45 a.m.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was riding a bicycle when they crossed the roadway and was hit by a southbound vehicle, which continued away from the scene without stopping.
Officials have since determined that the hit-and-run suspect was likely operating a white Chevy Suburban, which is believed to have sustained minor damage to its front-end.
The cyclist, who was rushed to a local hospital, was pronounced deceased at 1:20 a.m.
An investigation by the FCSO and both Mifflin Township and Clinton Township police departments remains underway.
