On February 6, 2020, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has opted to create a multidistrict litigation (MDL) docket for Zantac personal injury claims, sending the lawsuits to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported the discovery of the N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in Zantac, a common heartburn medication available in both prescription and over-the-counter versions and that discovery began a series of warnings and recalls nationwide, as well as the filing of class actions and individual lawsuits.
In 2019 multiple drugstores stopped selling the drug. CVS and Walgreens no longer sell Zantac and other Ranitidine medications. CVS has offered customers who recently bought Zantac or another Ranitidine drug a refund.
In order to successfully pursue civil litigation for those affected by cancer, consumers must prove that they took Zantac (or another form of Ranitidine) and be able to prove they suffered an injury from use.
A Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) has been created to consolidate lawsuits against JUUL Labs, Inc. for the marketing of JUUL products. Attorneys allege that JUUL marketed its nicotine delivery products in a manner designed to attract minors, that JUUL’s marketing misrepresents that JUUL products are more potent and addictive than cigarettes, and that JUUL products are defective and unreasonably dangerous.
As of October 2019, there are cases consolidated in California: JUUL MDL 2913.
If you or a loved one has suffered injury from a JUUL product, contact us today.
According to the FDA, there are over one million hernia repairs each year. Sometimes, a repair results in the surgical placement of mesh even though there are well known and trusted suturing methods that do not involve hernia mesh placement.

Over the last few years, there have been numerous recalls of surgical hernia mesh as well as reports of complications and injury from the implantation of mesh, including the following:
As of 2018, there are three separate Multi-District Litigations pending around the country, one of which is located in federal court in Columbus, Ohio: C.R. Bard/ Davol, Polypropylene Hernia Mesh Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2846).
Additionally, there are cases consolidated in Georgia: Ethicon Physiomesh Flexible Composite Hernia Mesh (MDL 2782) and in New Hampshire: Atrium Medical Corp. C-Qur Mesh Products (MDL 2753).

The FDA is continuing to evaluate the voluntary recalls of multiple batches of drugs containing Valsartan due to impurities. The drug is taken by millions of Americans to treat high blood pressure and heart failure.
According to the FDA, the presence of N-NitrosoDiMethylAmine (NDMA) found in generic formulations of the drug may increase the risk of developing certain kinds of cancer , including:
The impurities cited by the FDA appear to be related to the manufacturing process. NDMA is unintentionally formed in air, water, and soil during the manufacturing process and does not exist in the natural environment.
If you or a loved one took a generic form of Valsartan between 2015 and the present and suffered a digestive cancer or liver injury, please contact us for more information.

I’ve worked with Jami on a number of cases. She is one hard-working lawyer, very quick to pick up on issues that can affect a case, and, possibly most important of all, very responsive to and concerned about her clients. Jami attacks a case like a bulldog, but remains cool under fire. A great lawyer.
