Young child dies, multiple others left hurt following two-vehicle wreck in Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, OH – A 4-year-old child died as a result of a collision Saturday afternoon in Concord Township that left multiple other people, including three other children, injured, reports NBC4i.

The fatal wreck took place on a stretch of Moore Road at State Route 745, at about 4:06 p.m.

State Highway Patrol officials say a 2025 black Honda Pilot ran a stop sign at the intersection and was subsequently hit by a silver 2015 Dodge Durango. The impact sent the Honda off the roadway, where it overturned after hitting a mailbox, a fire hydrant, and multiple trees.

Three people inside the Honda, including a 4-year-old child and two adults ages 40 and 41, who were injured. The two adults were transported to a local hospital for serious injuries while the young child was rushed to another hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Five people in the Dodge Durango, which also ran off the roadway and hit a tree, were hospitalized. Two adults ages 47 and 53, along with a 16-year-old passenger, were transported to a separate hospital. The two other passengers, children ages 7 and 9, were taken to the hospital where the 4-year-old child was taken. Officials said their injuries were considered minor.

According to a preliminary investigation, while everyone in the Dodge was fastened by seatbelts at the time of the wreck, non of the Honda occupants were restrained. It’s unclear at this time whether impairment or distracted driving played roles.
