Woman Dies, 2 Others Left Hospitalized After T-Bone Crash in East Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – A 34-year-old woman died following a two-vehicle collision early Tuesday in east Columbus that left two others injured, one critically, reports NBC4i.

The wreck occurred at the corner of Woodland Avenue and East 17th Avenue, shortly before 1:00 a.m.

According to Columbus Police, the woman was driving a Ford northbound on Woodland Avenue when she ran a red light and tried to turn left at the intersection. Moments later, a Buick that was traveling east on East 17th Avenue during a green light T-boned the Ford.

Columbus firefighters had to extricate the driver of the Ford from the wreckage before rushing her to an area hospital. At 1:43 a.m., less than an hour after the collision, she was pronounced deceased.

First responders also transported a female passenger from the Ford and the male driver of the Buick to the hospital, where they were listed in critical and stable condition, respectively.

An investigation remains ongoing.
