COLUMBUS, OH – An accident on I-270 northbound is causing significant delays for afternoon commuters on Columbus’ east side, the Ohio Department of Transportation reported Tuesday.
The crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on I-270 North, just before the I-70 East Side interchange at Exit 43. The incident has blocked the right lane, forcing traffic to merge.

ODOT officials say the backup extends south to the U.S. 33 southeast exit at mile marker 46, with stop-and-go traffic reported throughout this stretch.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or expect delays as crews work to clear the scene. The cause of the accident and any potential injuries have not been disclosed.
