COLUMBUS, OH – A 24-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Sunday evening in a motorcycle accident on the northwest side of Columbus, reports NBC 4.
The crash occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. in the area of Scioto Darby Creek Road and Woodson Drive, which is just east of I-270 and northwest of Quarry Trails Metro Park.
Police say the driver of a BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle was ejected after losing control of the bike and hitting a guardrail. The motorcycle ultimately landed on top of the victim.
The motorcyclist succumbed to her injuries shortly after transport to an area hospital.
A full investigation is underway.
