Ohio’s workplace protection law is codified at R.C. 2745.01. https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-2745.01

These cases are very difficult and are strictly controlled by the language of the statute. Clear and convincing evidence of deliberate injury is required. This includes situations where there was the removal of a guard on a machine which then led to injury or death. The Courts in Ohio have set out rules, on a case by case basis, of what constitutes the removal of a safety guard which is different from a mere safety device.
