COLUMBUS, OH – A 58-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Wednesday when an alleged drunk driver struck him in a Columbus parking lot.
According to abc 6, the accident happened in the afternoon in the 1300 block of Marion Road. This is north of OH-104 on the southeast side of the city.
Police say that the 16-year-old driver was likely intoxicated while performing stunts with his vehicle in the parking lot of Marion Square Apartments. The teen lost control of the car and struck a man on the sidewalk.
The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.
The teen driver failed a field sobriety test. Officials haven’t yet specified if he will face charges in juvenile court.
