JACKSON COUNTY, OH – Ohio State Highway Patrol officials responded to a two-vehicle wreck Saturday night, January 4, in Jackson Township that resulted in the death of a 46-year-old man, reports NBC4i.
The fatal collision occurred as the victim, a Chillicothe resident, was driving an Audi westbound on an unspecified span of U.S. Route 35. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 10:45 p.m.
Investigators found that the man had driven off the left side of the roadway before the Audi collided with an oncoming Chevrolet in the eastbound highway. The impact caused the Audi to roll multiple times before arriving at a stop.
The driver of the Audi was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Chevrolet and a passenger in the same vehicle suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear whether they were hospitalized.
An investigation is being carried out by the OSHP.
