COLUMBUS, OH – Two people were rushed to a hospital early Friday following a wreck involving multiple vehicles in southeast Columbus, according to ABC 6.
The accident occurred on the southbound side of South Hamilton Road approaching U.S. Highway 33. First responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 1:24 a.m.
Investigators say the events unfolded after one vehicle became disabled in the move lanes. Shortly after a driver in an Audi A3 put on their hazard lights and stopped behind the disabled vehicle to assist the other driver, both vehicles were rear-ended by a gray Hyundai Accent heading southbound.
While the severity of injuries sustained remains unknown, the driver of the Audi A3 and a passenger from the Hyundai Accent were transported to an area hospital.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues to be carried out by the Accident Investigation Unit.
