BROWN COUNTY, OH – Authorities were called to a collision involving a semi-truck Tuesday morning in Russellville that claimed the life of a 42-year-old man, reports WLWT.
The wreck unfolded on an unspecified span of northbound U.S. Route 62 at about 10:15 a.m.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Chevrolet Spark southbound on the highway when he veered out of his lane to avoid crashing into a United States Postal vehicle that was delivering mail. Moments after entering the northbound lanes, his car was hit by a northbound truck.
First responders pronounced the driver of the Chevrolet Spark deceased at the scene.
Officials indicated that the driver of the semi was not hurt.
No further details have been disclosed at this time, but an investigation was being carried out by the OSHP, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and multiple other area agencies.
