FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH – One person suffered major injuries late Sunday night when they were struck by a vehicle outside of a convenience store near southeast Columbus, reports ABC 6 On Your Side.
The incident took place on a stretch of Alum Creek Drive in front of the Sheetz convenience store in Groveport. It was first reported shortly after 11:19 p.m.
According to Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies, the victim was a passenger of a blue Ford Fusion that had stopped on the roadway just outside the business.
While the driver was inside the vehicle, the victim was occupied with handling an item in the trunk. At one point, a driver in a gray Toyota C-HR hit the Fusion and the passenger who was standing outside the Ford Fusion.
First responders rushed the victim to Grant Medical Center for critical injuries.
Officials did not immediately say whether the striking driver is expected to be charged or cited.
