COLUMBUS, OH – One person suffered major injuries as a result of a motorcycle accident Wednesday evening, August 21, in southwest Columbus, according to NBC4i.

The accident happened in the 2000 block of Jackson Pike, prompting a response from Columbus police at about 6:27 p.m.

An investigation into the circumstances of the event remains in progress, but another vehicle was involved. Dispatchers said one person was critically injured and had to be rushed to a local hospital.

Officials did not immediately confirm whether the patient was the motorcyclist, but the involved car was said to have remained at the scene following the incident.
