FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH – Two men, including a DUI suspect, were hospitalized with major injuries early last Friday, July 12, following a collision in Dublin, reports FOX 28.
The crash happened at the intersection of Sawmill Road and Saltergate Drive at about 12:20 a.m., shortly after the suspect driver, a 45-year-old Marysville man, sped away from a traffic stop initiated by a Dublin police officer.
Officials said the suspect’s 2022 Ferrari F8 Spider collided with the back of a 2005 GMC van at a high rate of speed, causing the first car to rotate uncontrollably before hitting a 2021 Nissan Rogue, which was making a right turn.
Both the suspect and the driver of the GMC van, 71, were rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries.
While both occupants of the Nissan Rogue received medical attention at the scene, neither was transported to a hospital.
An investigation remains in progress, but the suspect, believed to have been intoxicated at the time, was found to have been driving at 100 mph in a 45 mph zone.
