MUSKINGUM CO., OH – A 26-year-old man died, and several people were hurt last Tuesday in a major crash in west-central Muskingum County.
According to The Time Recorder, the accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on I-70 near mile marker 146. This is just east of Hopewell and about eight miles west of Zanesville.
Police say that for unknown reasons, an eastbound semi entered the westbound side of the interstate and collided with two oncoming passenger vehicles.
One of the westbound drivers died at the scene of the wreck. Authorities identified him as Robert Rebitski of Kentucky.
Medics transported a passenger from Rebitski’s vehicle along with two adults and two children from the third vehicle to an area hospital, all with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
