Man Killed in 2-Car Crash at OH-347 and Lund

UNION CO., OH – A 55-year-old man died, and another man was badly hurt Friday in a two-vehicle crash near Marysville.

According to WHIO 7, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at OH-347 and Lunda Road between Raymond and East Liberty. This is about 45 miles northwest of Columbus.

Police say that a southbound Mazda CX7 struck an eastbound Honda HRV when the driver of the Mazda failed to heed a stop sign at the intersection. The impact of the collision caused the Honda to leave the highway and hit a tree.

The driver of the Honda, identified as Michael Lee Shroat of Ostrander, died at the scene of the wreck.

Medics transported the driver of the Mazda, identified as 39-year-old Matthew W. Kauser of Marysville, to an area hospital with serious injuries.

No charges have been announced thus far.

A full investigation is underway.
