Cyclist Found Deceased After Apparent Hit-and-Run in South Side

COLUMBUS, OH – A 40-year-old man died Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Columbus’ South Side, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

The fatal incident took place in the area of Parsons Avenue and Corr Road, prompting a response from Columbus Police at about 6:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the man was riding a bike southbound on Corr Road, south of Parsons Avenue, when he was hit by a driver in a Mercury Marquise. The cyclist, who was thrown to the ground by the impact, was found lying at the intersection of the roads.

By 6:36 p.m., the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, investigators continue to seek more information about the crash and the driver, who fled the scene.
