COLUMBUS, OH – Emergency crews were called to an injury collision Wednesday evening on Interstate 270 in northeast Columbus, according to Johnny Hill, local traffic news announcer with WTVN 610.
Officials say the wreck occurred on the southbound side of I-270 past I-670, or U.S. Route 62. It was first reported at about 6:20 p.m.
While very few details were immediately provided, officials confirmed that one person was hurt. The scene had the two left lanes blocked at the time of the initial report. About 12 minutes later, a section of the southbound interstate was closed.
Motorists were asked to take westbound I-670 to southbound I-71, then to eastbound I-70 to return back to I-270.
