PUTNAM COUNTY, OH – At least two people suffered injuries due to a crash involving a CSX train Thursday morning, October 10, in Columbus Grove, according to Hometown Stations.
The incident took place at the Main Street railroad crossing, shortly after 9:30 a.m.
Putnam County sheriff’s deputies said a 23-year-old Lima woman was driving southbound on Main Street when her SUV was hit by a southbound CSX train.
While the driver and her two passengers were able to exit the car following the impact, the two passengers had to be taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s for injuries considered non-life-threatening.
It’s unclear at this time what led up to the wreck, but authorities continue to investigate. No pending charges or citations have been reported.
